We often get asked this question as we head into summer and get our first hot period with regards to office cooling.

Unfortunately from a legislation prospective the HSE only issue a guideline as there is only a minimum temperature and no maximum temperature in the work place.

The guideline line is that the temperature in the work place should have a reasonable comfort level without the need for special clothing, this is difficult as everyone level of comfort & temperature is different.
The minimum office working temperature is 16 degrees Celsius unless much of the work involves physical effort in which case the temperature should be at least 13 degrees Celsius. The HSE advice that if the temperature in the work place is uncomfortably high, then reasonable steps should be taken to achieve a reasonably comfortable temperature.
In UK we try to achieve 21oC in an office/static working environment and have many different air conditioning applications for all budgets to achieve this.  We understand how uncomfortable it can we within an office or industrial environment so ensuring that you have a well maintained air conditioning units is essential this time of year…and forecasts are for it to get hotter!!
